No claims discount - Tesco Health Insurance is there for peace of mind but, if customers don't make a claim, they are rewarded with a no claims discount. The maximum no claims discount after three claim-free years is 55%. At this point customers may be eligible to purchase an NCD protector. Otherwise, if a customer does claim, they will go back three steps on the eight point NCD scale.

The market - In 2006, there were 3.6 million policies (covering 6.4 million people) in the UK health insurance market. The split of policies is approximately two to one company-purchased/consumer-purchased cover.
